Sunset School lawsuit dismissed

A Cerro Gordo County District Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed in objection to a proposed use for the former Sunset Elementary School in Clear Lake.

Motorcycle chase through CL ends with arrest in Mason City

    A high speed chase which originated in Clear Lake resulted in the arrest of a Mason City man Tuesday, April 24.

Herbert “Herb” Bonin Wyvonne “Bonnie” Bonin

Herbert “Herb” Herman Bonin, 88, of Mesa, Az., formally of Clear Lake, was born June 21, 1923 In Buckeye, Iowa, and died April 10, 2012 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa.
    Wyvonne “Bonnie” Charlotte Bonin, 87, of Mesa, and formally of Clear Lake was born Dec. 15, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa and died April 16, 2012 at Banner Hospice in Mesa.    

Dennis Miller

    Dennis Keith Miller, 58, 2700 North Shore Dr., Clear Lake, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at his home.  A memorial service was held Monday, April 23, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Diana Hoover officiating. Inurnment will be at  the Fort Dodge Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Dennis Keith Miller Memorial Fund in care of Clear Lake Bank and Trust.

    Beverly Faith Swan, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and best friend, age 85, of St. Louis Park, Minn., went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2012. Services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2 p.m., at Clear Lake Christian Church, 302 Highway 18 W. Gifts may be given in her name to First United Methodist Church of Chicago, 77 W. Washington, Chicago, IL 60602 or Global Partners of the Wesleyan Church.

CL boys pick up triangular victory at home; fall to Clarion-Goldfield

    The Clear Lake boys golf team had their hands full at a triangular held at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion on Tuesday, April 17.  Clarion-Goldfield topped Clear Lake and Webster City in the North Central Conference showdown.

Algona Meet
    The weather didn’t slow the Clear Lake girls golf team down Monday night, April 16.  The Lions topped Algona 184-215 in North Central Conference action.
    Meg Monson had the low score for the night, coming in with a 43 to lead the Lions.

Clear Lake boys being led by a strong hurdle team

  The Clear Lake boys track team competed at the Lynx Relays in Webster City on Tuesday, April 17.  Webster City won the meet with 135 points.  Clear Lake was seventh in the seven team field with 37 points.

Lady Vikes posting personal best times are area track meets

The Ventura girls track team has seen improvement in the last two track meets they have competed in and are improving times and recording personal best times in events.
