Robert “Bob” Eugene Linahon,
85, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, July
5, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice In-
patient Unit in Mason City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015,
at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001
9th Ave. S., Clear Lake, with the Rev.
Fr. John Gossman officiating. Burial
will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cem-
etery, Mason City.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m.,
Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th
St., Clear Lake. A Scriptural Wake
Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thurs-
day evening at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contri-
butions be made to the Robert Lina-
hon Memorial Fund.
Bob was born Aug. 2, 1929, the
son of Fred and Harriett (Bullock)
Linahon, in Iowa City. He married
Darlene Mullaney on Aug. 6, 1949, at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Ma-
son City. She preceded him in death
on Feb. 29, 2012. Bob and Darlene

Roger Lee Steward, 82, of Clear
Lake, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at
Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in
Mason City.
A graveside inurnment will be
held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept.
11, 2015, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery,
34024 Veterans Memorial Dr., Adel,
Iowa, 50003, with military honors pro-
vided by the United States Navy Honor
Guard.

Roger was born Sept. 15, 1932,
the son of Walter and Helen Pauline
Margaret (Gramenz) Steward in Burt,
Iowa. A graduate of Burt High School,
1950, he enlisted in the United States
Navy in July, 1951. After serving in ac-
tive duty until 1955, he served inactive
until being honorably discharged in
1959. He graduated from Upper Iowa
University in 1961 with a Bachelor’s
Degree in education, and went on to
receive his Master’s Degree in guidance
counseling from Northeast Missouri
State University, in Kirksville, Mo.
Roger was united in marriage to
Marjorie Orr on July 30, 1961 at the
Algona Methodist Church, Algona,
Iowa. He taught school for 16 years as
a high school teacher in Danville, Iowa,
Madrid, Iowa, Albert City, Iowa, and
as a counselor in Ventura, Iowa. While
living in North Iowa he took a job with
the Des Moines Register as a circula-
