Lion volleyball banquet scheduled
    The Clear Lake volleyball banquet will be Sunday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Middle School Commons.

NIACC to offer boys basketball clinic
    North Iowa Area Community College will hold the NIACC Boys Basketball Clinic on Sunday, Nov. 9, to serve as a pre-season workout for area boys.  A clinic for boys in grades 3rd-6th will take place from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.  A clinic for 7th-12th grades will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m.  Participants will receive a free t-shirt and post-clinic pizza.  The $30 fee includes instruction from NIACC players and Head Coach Mark Mohl and staff.  To register call 641-422-4333 or toll-free 1-888-GO NIACC ext. 4333 or email mohlmark@niacc.edu.

Adult Co-Rec Volleyball offered on Tuesdays

    The Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Department is offering Co-Rec Colleyball for adults on Tuesaday evenings from 7-9 p.m.  Co-Rec volleyball will begin Tuesday, Oct. 14, and continue through mid-March at the Middle School gym.  All adults 18 years of age and older are welcome to come and join the fun.  The event is free.  Teams are formed as players arrive.

Clear Lake plans alumni basketball tourney
    The Clear Lake Boys Basketball Alumni Tournament will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27 this year.  Captains need to email their rosters with t-shirt sizes to Kevin Kahler at kahleke@clearlake.k12.ia.us.   

Teams invited to P&R Turkey Shoot
    A holiday event shooting free throws for turkeys sponsored by the Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Department, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 16, at noon at the Clear Creek School Gym. There is no charge for this event and you sign-up when you arrive.  Please enter through the main doors.
    Teams consist of an adult and child who are related. Each team shoots 20 free throws. The competition is divided by age of the child. The different divisions are ages six – 14.  Ages six-nine move in four-feet from free throw line and shoot at an eight-foot high basket, and ages 10-11 move in two-feet and shoot at the regular basket; 12-14-year-olds and adults shoot regulation free throws.  All winning teams will receive a certificate for a free turkey for their holiday cooking. Jingle Bell Run/Walk scheduled
    The Arthritis Foundation's Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, at Southbridge Mall.  The event offers a 2 and 5 mile (timed) run and a 2 mile (indoor) fun walk, with activities for the entire family.  A health area will be set up in conjunction with the event to help support a healty lifestyle.  Cerro Gordo Public Health will also be giving flu shots.  Registration fees:  free for walkers; $25 for individual runner and $20 if your register with a team of 10 or more.  Participants are also encouraged to raise pledges.  Call 866-378-0636 for more details or visit www.masoncityjinglebellrun.kintera.org.
