CLHS Football team to hold banquet
The Clear Lake High School football team will hold their banquet on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 4:30 p.m. at the Surf Ballroom. For the potluck, seniors are asked to bring a main dish and dessert; juniors are to breing a main dish and salad; sophomores, a main dish and dessert; freshmen are to bring a main dish and salad and the cheerleaders, statisticians and Lion Tamers should bring a main dish and dessert. Everyone is asked to furnish their own beverrages. The public is invited.
Winners of the Friday Night League
The Friday Night Mixed League league met on Friday, Nov. 2 at Lake Lanes in Clear Lake. Winners included: Men's Individual High Game, Andy Andersen, 234; Women's Individual High Game, Terry Mortitz and Julie Leininger, 181; Men's Individual Series, Trinity Benson, 629; Women's Individual High Series, Julie Leininger, 528; Team High Game, Clear Lake Fire Dept., 755; Team High Series, Clear Lake Fire Dept., 2,041. Spilts: Erica Benson, 5-7.
Wrestling preview night planned The Clear Lake wrestling team will hold their Preview Night on Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the high school gym. A brief practice will be held followed by wrestle offs. A parent meeting will be held in the cafeteria immediately following Preview Night. All fans are encouraged to attend.
NIACC to play in Graphic Edge Bowl
The NIACC Football team will participate in The Graphic Edge Bowl on Sunday, Nov. 18, in the UNI Dome, Cedar Falls, Iowa. NIACC will play Joliet at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast live at www.iccac.org. Both teams have very strong and uniquely balanced offenses. They both use a mix of run and pass to move down the field and have not shown any weaknesses in either. Joliet is currently on an eight game win streak and NIACC has won five out of their last six, including a win over MFC Champion, Iowa Central CC. Both teams are ranked in the top 15 nationally.

MALL League announces winners
The MALL Bowling League met on Monday, Nov. 12. Winners included: Individual High Game, Clyde Hutchinson, 148 and Karen Humphrey, 210; Individual 3-Game Series, Clyde Hutchinson, 436 and Karen Humphrey, 550; Team High Game, Fertile Downtown Cafe, 429; Team 3-Game Series, Fertile Downtown Cafe, 1,154. Splits: Jackie Quinn, 3-10x2; Karen Humphrey, 3-10 and Irene Zuck, 5-10. USBC Awards: Joan Dankbar, 140 Game Emblem and Clyde Hutchison, 200 Game Emblem.
Parks and Rec sets youth wrestling clinic
The Clear Lake Parks and Rec Department will hold Youth Wrestling for boys and girls in kindergarten through 6th grade. The clinics will start on Monday, Dec. 3 and continue through Feb. 4, from 5:45-6:45 p.m. in the Clear Lake High School wrestling room. The cost is $16 per wrestler and a T-shirt is available for an additional $8. Deadline for registration is Nov. 30. High School Coach Gary Weber, his coaching staff and varsity wrestlers will lead the program. The program will finish with a free wrestling tournament on Feb. 4, with all youth receiving a trophy.
