Girls basketball camps announced
    Clear Lake Girls Basketball Camps will be held in May and June.  All area girls are welcome to participate.  Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game, skills and play games.  Camp dates are as follows:  1st and 2nd grade, May 27-31, 9-11 a.m. at Clear Creek Elementary; 3rd and 4th grade, May 27-31, 10-11 a.m. at Clear Creek Elementary; 5th and 6th grade, May 27-May 30, 9-11 a.m. at Clear Lake High School; 7th and 8th grade, June 2-6, 10 a.m.-noon, at Clear Lake High School and 9th-12th grades, June 2-6, 8-10 a.m. at Clear Lake High School.  The camp will cost $30 for grades 1st through 6th and $50 for 7th grade and up.  A t-shirt will be available for an additional $8.  Direct any questions to Kay Bacon at 357-5235 (school) or 357-4003 (home.)
CLHS Dance Team to hold try-outs

    The Clear Lake High School Dance Team will hold try-outs for their 2008-09 team on Saturday, April 26, at the Clear Creek Gym.  The try-out routine will be taught from 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m. and the judged audition will be held at noon.  Those students have may have a conflict with the try-out date may turn in a video audition prior to try-outs.  CLHS Dance Director Liz LeFevre will be at the middle school on Thursday, April 17, during the 8th grade lunch to hand out a team/try-out information packet.  She will also be available to hand out information and answer questions on Sunday, April 20, at 3 p.m. at the Clear Lake High School Gym south lobby.  For try-out information you can email clhsdanceteam@yahoo.com or go to www.angelfire.com/ia2/clearlakedanceteam.
Draft dates set for CLYAL
    Draft dates for the Clear Lake Youth Athletic League will be held Wednesday, April 23, 6th-7th grade boys will be at 6:30 p.m., and 4th-5th grade boys will follow at 7:30 p.m.  Girls softball teams will be drafted the following night, Thursday, April 24, with the 6th-7th grade at 6:30 p.m. and 4th-5th at 7:30 p.m.  If coaches have not been notified with roster and draft rules, they need to contact a board member.  Practice equipment will also be handed out at this time.  Games are scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 27, keep checking the Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter for updates or visit the website at www.clearlakeyal.com.
Oak Hills Ladies Golf Day to start
    Thursday, May 1 will be the opening day of Oak Hills Ladies Day at Oak Hills Golf Course, 518 27th Ave. S., Clear Lake.  All area women are invited to join.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with tee-off promptly at 10 a.m.  Refreshments follow nine holes of golf with weekly prizes awarded.  Annual dues are $5 and weekly dues are $1.  All dues are distributed in prizes throughout the season. 
CLWAC plans the 2008 season
    The Clear Lake Women's Golf members met at the Half  Moon on Wednesday April 9.  Seventeen members attended and one guest, Nancy Plorins.  Officers will meet on Wednesday, April 23, at the home of Ginger Holmes to plan the 2008 season.  The group will meet for golf on April 30.  Anyone 18 and over wishing to join the group is welcome.  The official start of the CLWGA golfing season will begin May 7.  Lunch will be served by the offiers.  Memberships will be taken at that time.  For more information contact Margaret Dickens, president, 357-8541.
