It’s that time of year again, time for the North Iowa “On The Wild Side” Free Fair. The fair will run from Wednesday, July 23 through Sunday, July 27, with many old favorites, as well as some new activities this year.

The Clear Lake Public Library’s Storytelling Festival is the first event of Lakefest. Friday night storytellers perform eerie tales aboard the Lady of the Lake “Ghost Boat” at 9 p.m. Ticket price is $15. Saturday three free performances by the Midwest’s finest storytellers performing for a multigenerational audience in Clear Lake City Park, 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. More information about this event can be found in this week’s Resorter.
The Clear Lake Arts Center will hold its annual Art Sail Saturday, July 26, from 9-4 p.m. Seventy-five artists from nine states will show their work in City Park. Mediums include: painting, pastels, printmaking, ceramics, steel sculpting, wood and more. The items offered are both functional and non-functional. Over 20 new artists will be joining in this annual event. Free children’s creative activities, food vendors, and strolling entertainment are also available. Toe-tapping Dixieland Jazz will be performed during the 16th annual Lakeside DixieFest. This event features 5 professional Dixieland Bands performing in Clear Lake’s City Park. Free festival performances in City Park Saturday evening from 6-10 p.m. and on Sunday from noon-9 p.m. More information about this event can be found in this week’s Resorter.
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is sponsoring a nationwide bus tour with the goal of building a grassroots movement united in its mission to make cancer a top national priority. The bus will make a stop at Clear Lake Bank & Trust, 322 Main Ave., Monday, July 28, from 5-6 p.m. The public is invited to attend and find out how they can encourage elected officials to join them in the fight to make cancer a top national priority.
