Turkey Shoot set for Nov. 11
The Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Department will hold their annual Turkey Shoot on Sunday, Nov. 11, at noon, at Clear Creek Gym (enter through the main doors). Teams, consisting of an adult and a related child, have the chance to shoot freethrows and win a turkey. Each team shoots 20 free throws. The competition is divided by age of the child. Youth 6-9 years of age move in four feet from the free throw line and shoot at an 8-foot high basket, 10-11 year-olds move in two feet and shoot at the regulationa basket and 12-14 year-olds and adults shoot regulation free throws. All winning teams will receive a free turkey for their holiday cooking.

CLHS Football team to hold banquet
The Clear Lake High School football team will hold their banquet on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 4:30 p.m. at the Surf Ballroom. For the potluck, seniors are asked to bring a main dish and dessert; juniors are to bring a main dish and salad; sophomores, a main dish and dessert; freshmen are to bring a main dish and salad and the cheerleaders, statisticians and Lion Tamers should bring a main dish and dessert. Everyone is asked to furnish their own beverrages. The public is invited.

Ventura football team to hold banquet
The Ventura football team will hold their banquet on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the high school commons, from 6:30-8 p.m. For supplying the players with meals every Thursday night and following away football games, the team is treating the parents to pizza, dessert and beverages.

Parks and Rec plans youth wrestling clinic
The Clear Lake Parks and Rec Department will hold Youth Wrestling for boys and girls in kindergarten through 6th grade. The clinics will start on Monday, Dec. 3 and continue through Feb. 4, from 5:45-6:45 p.m. in the Clear Lake High School wrestling room. The cost is $16 per wrestler and a T-shirt is available for an additional $8. Deadline for registration is Nov. 30. High School Coach Gary Weber, his coaching staff and varsity wrestlers will lead the program. The program will finish with a free wrestling tournament on Feb. 4, with all youth receiving a trophy.

Lundeen records a hole-in-one
Tom Lundeen, 43, recorded a hole-in-one recently at Oak Hills Golf Course in Clear Lake. Lundeen made the shot on the #3 hole using a nine iron for the 134 yard drive. This is Lundeen's second hole-in-one and the 14th of the season at Oak Hills. The shot was witnessed by Drake Lundeen.

Openings remain for Waldorf Tournament
Openings remain for two upcoming basketball tournaments hosted by the Waldorf Athletic Department. A boys tournament for grades 5-8 will be held on Nov. 17 and a girls tournament for grades 5-8 will be held on Dec. 8. Lakette Bowling announces winners
The Lakette Bowling league met on Thursday, Nov. 1, at Lake Lanes in Clear Lake. Winners included: Individual High Game, Shari Vestweber, 214; Individual 3-Game Series, Shari Vestweber, 547; Team High Game, Lake Lanes, 721; Team 3-Game Series, Lake Lanes, 2,022. Splits: Deb Hudson, 4-5; Jayne Bitker, 6-7-9-10 and Barb Hicok, 5-6.

MALL Bowling League announces winners
The MALL Bowling League met on Monday, Nov. 5. Winners included: Individual High Game, Clyde Hutchinson, 222 and Karen Humphrey, 213; Individual 3-Game Series, Clyde Hutchinson, 592 and Karen Humphrey, 541; Team High Game, Lake Lanes, 461; Team 3-Game Series, Lake Lanes, 1205. Splits: Jackie Quinn, Karen Humphrey, Joan Dankbar and Clyde Hutchison. Montly Standings: Individual High Game, Clyde Hutchinson, 173 and Karen Humphrey and Wilma Ades, 200; Individual 3-Game Series, Clyde Hutchinson, 473 and Irene Zuck, 515; Team High Game, Forever Tan, 429; Team 3-Game Series, Forever Tan, 1157. Top averages: Men, Clyde Hutchison, 155 and Don Steffa, 104; women, Karen Humphrey, 164, Irene Zuck, 155 and Sharon Coe, 151.
