CL girls take third at home meet

    The Clear Lake girls  treated the home crowd to some outstanding performances Thursday, as they hosted the Ahrens Relays.
    The meet got off to a strong start for the Lion girls in field events.  Rea Faber won the long jump with a jump pf 15’4 1/4” and Macey Hansen finished first in the shot put with a  throw of 34’2 1/4”.  In high jump, Casey O’Brien placed fourth, with a season best jump of 4’10”.
    Alana Enabit set a new meet record in the 3,000 meter run, winning the event in 11:47.37.  She also won the 1500 meter run, with a time of 5:36.45.
    Faber was a three-time runner-up in the sprints, placing second in the 100 (12.93), 200 (27.41) and 400 (1:05.59).
    In the 800 meter run, O’Brien placed second with a time of 2:41.20
    The Lion shuttle hurdle team placed second in their relay.  team members were Megan Hein, Mikaela Huntley, Paige Burtness and Katie Kirchhoff.  
    The 4x200 team made up of Katie Ginapp, Katie Kirchhoff, Emma Schiller and Olivia Richardson placed fourth,
    The distance medley team with Ginapp, Schiller, Richardson and O’Brien placed fourth.
    In the 100 meter hurdles, Megan Hein placed sixth.  She was also sixth   in the 400 meter hurdles, her first time competing in the event.
    The Lion sprint medley relay team placed third, made up of Ginapp, Kirchhoff, Schiller and Alicia Abbott.  The 4x100 meter relay made up of Ginapp,  Kirchhoff,  Mikaela Huntley and Abbott was fourth. The 4x400 team with Abbott, Burtness, Taylor Jurgens and Schiller was fifth.
    Overall, the team placed third in the meet.
