Annette Aarons, 48, of 1200 North 9th Street West, Clear Lake, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held April 5, 10:30 a.m., at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake with Pastor Rich Murray officiating.
Memorials may be made out to the Opportunity Village.
Annette was born on Oct. 24, 1959 in Mason City, the daughter of Roy and Margaret (Lyons) Aarons. She participated in special education courses and worked at the Opportunity Village workshop.
Annette loved music, especially Johnny Cash, along with riding in cars, rocking back and forth, and going to Adventureland, where she rode the roller coasters over and over. She had high hopes of going to Disneyland in the future. Annette loved McDonald’s french fries, and liked to go shopping at the Sears Shopping Center. She was a very affectionate person who loved to hold hands and had an infectious giggle. Connect 4 was her favorite game, and swimming in the village’s pool, and therapy pool were things she liked to do frequently. Annette was so happy when she finally got a yellow pair of jeans that she had always wanted. She also attended weekly Spiritual Life Meetings.
Annette is survived by all of her family and friends at Opportunity Village, the Iowa Guardianship Program, her friends at the Four Seasons Cottage, and the Heritage Care Center, and her special friend, Shirly Movick, from Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother, Marie Aarons.
Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
