Jane Youngstrom, 79, of 1603 1st Ave. North passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.
    Memorials can be made out to the Clear Lake Public Library in honor of Jane.
    Funeral services were held, Monday, April 14, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with Pastor Derik Yarian officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
    Jane was born on Dec. 7, 1928 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of George A. and Hannah E. (Jones) Pauls. She graduated from Washington High School and then attended the University of Iowa, where she played bagpipes with the Scottish Highlanders.  She met and married Earl R. Youngstrom on April 15, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa.
    Jane was very involved in the Zion Lutheran Church, including the Circle Club.  She was also active in the Clear Lake Public Library where she worked for 25 years, retiring in July 2007.  She loved gardening, antiques, crafts, bridge club, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.  She was also an avid book reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
    She is survived by her daughter, Holly Jane Monson, and her children, Megan and Andrew Monson,  Richfield, Minn., and sons, Eric Robert Youngstrom, Springfield, Mo., Scott Pauls (Maureen) Youngstrom, and their children, Kelsi, Kendall and Erika, Minnetonka, Minn., and Todd Earl (Kay) Youngstrom, and their children, Michael and Megan  Woodbury, Minn.; brother, John “Jack” F. (Maggie) Pauls, Lansdale, Penn., and her sister-in-law, Arlene Youngstrom, Estherville, Iowa.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Earl.
    Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
