J. Steve Shook, 64, of 2307 1st Ave. S., Clear Lake, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Open Bible Church, Clear Lake, with Pastor Will Hunsaker officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with military honors

Louis John Vavrik, 84, Ventura, Iowa, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.
A funeral mass was held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with Reverend John Gossman officiating. Burial was in the St. Johns Cemetery in Duncan, Iowa.

John Hunchis
John F. Hunchis, 76, of 43061 Maple Dr., Lake Mills, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 in his home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 from 5 -7 p.m. at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, Iowa, with a scriptural wake service at 6:30 p.m. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m.,Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, with Rev. Rodney Allers officiating and Monsignor Wayne Ressler co-officiating. Internment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with a luncheon following at St. Joseph. Family suggests memorials to John F. Hunchis memorial fund.
John was born Dec. 18, 1935 in Mason City, the son of Fred and Kathleen (Dorsey) Hunchis. Later he and his siblings were adopted by his step mom, Julia (Spaanum) Hunchis. While attending school John was very involved in athletics, including basketball and baseball. He graduated from Plymouth High School 1954 and then attended St. Thomas College.
John married Carol Jordan, Dec. 26, 1978 in Albert Lea, Minn.
