Lillian Cooper, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on March 25, 2014 at the age of 103. She was born on Dec. 13, 1910 to Jurgen and Elizabeth Aden and grew up in Gothenburg, Neb.
She married Jim Cooper in 1932. They lived in Omaha, Neb., and had two children, a son, Bob, and a daughter, Lu. In 1947 the family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa. Lillian was a member of PEO, a golfer and a bowler. She also enjoyed a variety of crafts. She loved life, laughter and country living.
Bernice Irene Carmody, 95, 1000 N. Eisenhower, Mason City, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 10 a.m., at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. John Scherb and Rev. Robert Dodge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel. Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Dorothy E. Newburg, 97, of Mason City, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 329 E. State St., with Rev. Sid Bohls officiating. Per her wishes, her body was cremated and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
