The Giving Tree will be displayed soon

The 23rd annual Giving Tree will be displayed in the Mirror-Reporter office starting Wednesday, Nov. 21. Each year The Giving Tree provides a very real reminder of the importance of community and the real meaning of Christmas.  Last year the tree featured a record 280 ornaments representing the wishes of local children and families.  And just like it always has, the community rose to the challenge of seeing that each of those ornaments was chosen.

   

Men arrested following theft

An arrest has been made following a theft at an acreage north of Clear Lake.

Two Klemme men were arrested Wednesday, Oct. 31, for allegedly stealing items at 9050A 300th St., Clear Lake.  A citizen reported suspicious activity on the property to the Sheriff’s Department.

   

Student representatives to join the Clear Lake School Board

The board who is charged with providing the tools to help students build a productive future has invited student representation.

Clear Lake High School junior Hannah Monson and sophomore Chrissy Tesar have been elected by their peers to provide student input to the Clear Lake School Board.

Active Shooter Drills give police officers valuable experience

Learning has never been more intense at Sunset School.  Police officers spent Monday at the vacant elementary school involved in training to prepare for the unthinkable.  

Six members of the Clear Lake police force led an Active Shooter Drill at the school for approximately 20 law
