Wednesday, July 23, promises to be a fun day, but it no doubt will inconvenience locals who will experience street closures and crowds.

On Tuesday, July 22, volunteers will gather downtown to create a giant work of art demonstrating pride in Clear Lake. A game board with eight by 10-foot squares will be created using City Park as the center of the board. Currently, over 65

 Cerro Gordo GOP Chairman Gabriel Haugland has announced that U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kent.) will headline a breakfast fundraiser for the Cerro Gordo County GOP on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 8-9 a.m. at the Mason City Airport Restaurant, located at the Municipal Airport.
 Sen. Paul will appear alongside other local and statewide elected Republican officials at the breakfast.

 A perfect storm of circumstances-- minus the storm, resulted in a record-setting Fourth of July celebration in Clear Lake.

Tim Coffey, executive director of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce which puts on arguably the state’s largest holiday festival, said the perfect alignment of days and weather resulted in huge crowds throughout the five-day extravaganza.
