Supervisors pass incentive plan for CL industry

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors Tuesday have joined Clear Lake leaders in approving measures which could potentially bring a regional warehouse and distribution center here.

The Clear Lake Sanitary District Board of Trustees has selected Steve Lahner to fill the unexpired term of Kelly McLaughlin.

According to Sanitary District Superintendent Kevin Moler, the board interviewed three persons for the trustee position and voted Feb. 18 to approve Lahner.

   

CL teachers seek 8.7 percent package raise

The Clear Lake Education Association presented its initial bargaining proposal to the Clear Lake School Board Monday. The CLEA is seeking an 8.7 percent salary and benefit increase for the 2014-15 school year contract.

   

Multi-million dollar incentive package approved for new, unnamed business

Punctuated by applause from the audience, the Clear Lake City Council enthusiastically approved a development agreement with an unnamed Fortune 100 company Monday night.  The business is pursuing construction of a regional warehouse and distribution center that will employ at least 160 people.
