RAGBRAI riders will travel on North Shore Drive

Strength training program takes off at school

The weight room at Clear Lake High School is busy these days-- and not just during the winter months when the weather limits outdoor activities.  The school district is in its second year of developing an all-school strength training program that all students can be involved in all year round.

Agreement clears way for dissolution, then conveyance of department to City of Ventura

After months of negotiation the Ventura Protective Association has reached an agreement to provide service for Clear Lake Township, clearing the way for the dissolution of the 66-year-old organization.

The VPA signed a contract with Clear Lake Township on March 25, according to VPA Chief John Quintus.  The VPA provides fire protection to the western half of Clear Lake Township, while the eastern half of the township is covered by the Clear Lake Fire Department.


Site work begins for warehouse, distribution center

Excavation equipment arrived on Lots 6 and 7 in the Larry Luker Memorial Industrial Park Tuesday morning to begin preparing the site for a warehouse and distribution center which will employ 164 persons.

Windmill Realty LLC purchased the land immediately west of Titan Pro on 12th Avenue South for $920,700 from Snyder Construction Partnership LLP.  Charlson Excavating, Clear Lake, is doing the site work for the planned 360,000 square foot facility.  The building plan is expected to come before the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission at its next meeting April 15.  Construction is then estimated to take 12-18 months.
