According to CLFD Public Information Officer Billy Krefft, during the overhaul portion of the OP fire, a report came in that a second fire had started at the Silver Boot Motel on South Shore Drive.
Fire was found in the walls and ceiling between and above two motel units. One unit was occupied and another vacant. Parties were evacuated and the fire was extinguished.
Cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature, with damage estimated at about $30,000.
The CLFD was assisted by the Ventura Protective Association, Clear Lake EMS and Clear Lake Police Department.
