Timothy J. Lindquist

 

Timothy J. Lindquist, 70, of Clear Lake died Monday, March 13, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 20, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Mark Doebel officiating.  Burial followed in the Clear Lake Cemetery. 

Tim’s family greeted relatives and friends one hour prior to his service at the funeral home.

Timothy James Lindquist, the youngest of four children, was born in Austin, Minn. to Theodore “Ted” Lindquist and Jeanne (Savage) Lindquist. While still an infant, the family moved to Clear Lake where his parents purchased a grocery store in 1953.

His early elementary school years were in Ventura, then later in Clear Lake.  The family then moved to Des Moines in the early 1960’s, from there to Dayton, Ohio where he graduated from Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio.

After a short time in college, he decided to enlist in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Coral Sea.  Following a vehicle accident he received an honorable medical discharge.  

Tim spent all of his working years in the automobile industry in the Dayton, Ohio area before coming back to Clear Lake to retire.

Tim had a strong faith, he loved The Lord.  He loved to fish and the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Tim loved his extended family of many nieces and nephews and enjoyed being with family.  He will be sadly missed by all.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Ted and Jeanne Lindquist.

He is survived by brothers, Ted and Knute Lindquist and sister, Marge (Lindquist) Brem; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
