Mary Norris

    Mary Darlene Norris, of Fort Collins, Colo., 87, died July 14, 2012.  Services will be held in Colorado at a later time.
    Mary was born in Des Moines, Iowa, where she lived for most of her life.  She also maintained a home in Clear Lake, Iowa and lived for briefer periods in Omaha, Neb., Green Valley, Az., and Kilmarnock, VA.

    She attended Drake University in Des Moines, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  She was also an active volunteer for St. John’s Home and School Association, the American Red Cross, and was a Democratic Precinct Committeewoman.  She was an executive secretary for the senior partner of a Des Moines law firm for many years, performing “paralegal” functions before that job specialty existed.   She was also an avid bridge player her entire life.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford L. Norris, and son, Thomas Eugene Norris. 
    She is survived by her sons, James M. Dollar and wife, Linda, of Greeley, Colo., John P. Dollar and wife, Jacke, of Des Moines, Iowa, daughter, Kathleen Conroy and husband, Mike, of Weems, VA.; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and her sister, Catherine Kolb, Dallas, Tex.
