Henry Rozen

     Henry Joseph “Harry” Rozen, 86, of Mason City, Iowa went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.
    Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, with Msgr. Joseph J. Slepicka as Celebrant.  Interment was in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, with military honors being provided by members of the Mason City Veterans Association.

    Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Harry’s name in care of his family.
    Harry was born on April 5, 1926, in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Sam and Elizabeth (Miller) Rozen.  Harry married Marie Elizabeth Collins, April 17, 1946.  He attended Holy Family School in Mason City.
    Harry enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 27, 1942 to serve his country in WWII at San Diego, Calif.  While enrolled in the Navy, Harry attended Radio School in San Diego, and Memphis, Tenn., Gunnery School in Hollywood, Fla., and flew a SBD Diver with the Airbase Squadron in New Caledonia and New Hebrides Islands.  Harry returned after his military service to manage the Chevrolet dealerships in Northwood, Iowa from 1947-1971 and Clear Lake, Iowa from 1971-1983.  He continued to manage the farms his father originated until his death.  Also, Harry taught Dale Carnegie in several cities across the state of Iowa from 1960-1971.  He was a member of Holy Family Church, Mason City and Clear Lake Lions Club.
    Harry enjoyed spending time with his wife, Marie, and their family who he loved very much.  He was a devoted and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.  A memorable event in Harry’s life was taking the WWII Honor flight from Mason City to Washington DC in 2010.  Harry will be remembered as a man who was very generous, kind, candid, quick witted, humorous, and who enjoyed sharing jokes, stories, and words of wisdom with all who crossed his path.  He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
    Harry is survived by his wife, Marie, of Mason City; daughter, Carol (Kary) Paulson of Northwood, son, James (Maureen) of Waterloo, Iowa;  grandchildren:  Kirk (Kelly) Paulson, Sarah (Craig) Walter, Kris (Brandi) Paulson, John Rozen, Kyle Wardlow, and Alicia Rozen;  great grandchildren:  Peyton, Avery, Tyler, Hudsen, Joshua, Jacob, Skyler, and Shaelynn, and many nieces and nephews. 
    Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Elizabeth;  sister, Jane Ann Duff;  brothers, Francis, Lloyd, Keith, and Pat;  nieces, Diana Lomas and Sharon Massey;  and nephews, Sam and John Rozen.
    Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
