Clear Lake hosts Lion Relays; place in the middle of the pack

Lion Relays
    Clear Lake hosted its Lions Relays Tuesday, April 10.  The Lions finished in the middle of the eight-team field with 66 points. 
    The Lions had a pair of first place finishes in the meet.  Chandler Diercks won the long jump with a leap of 19’ 10”, while teammate Jake Harle was second at 18’ 3/4”. 

Connor Nosbisch captured the 110 hurdles title in 15.06.  He also anchored the Shuttle Hurdle relay team to second in 1:04.33.  Other team members included Tanner Tusha, Jake Kockler and Tamarik Lee.
    Tusha had a pair of third place finishes in hurdle events.  He posted a time of 16.24 in the 110 hurdles and 1:02.27 in the 400 meter hurdles.
    Clear Lake’s 4x100 relay with Chase Lester, Chandler Diercks, Tre Strowder and Aaron Boeshart was third in 47.82.
    The 4x200 and Distance Medley relays were each fourth.  Cody Maulsby, Ozzie Adams, Chase Lester and Harle covered the 4x200 in 1:37.71.  Nosbisch, Maulsby, Mitch Camphu and Alex Webb ran the Distance Medley in 4:11.59.
    Jacob Baker was fifth in the 3200 meter run in 11:10.23 and Jake Kockler earned sixth place in the 200 meter dash in 1:03.94.  Also placing sixth was the 4x800 with Webb, Paulsen,  Iverson and Camphu in 9:55.19.
    Algona won the team title at the meet with 161 points.  Forest City was runner-up with 94.  The remainder of the field included: Osage (83), Clear Lake (66),  Clarion-Goldfield (57), Lake Mills (57), Hampton-Dumont (22) and Belmond-Klemme (18).

JV at Lions Relays
    Makean Bang topped the field in the 100 meter dash in the junior varsity competition at the Lions Relays.  Bang was clocked in 12.30.  He also participated in the Lions’ 4x100 which placed second in 51.69. Joining him on the relay was Steven Akers, Jordan Hall and Jerame Carlson. 
    In the distance events, Alex Enabnit was second in the 1600 in 5:30.32.
    Earning fourth place was Mitch Keeran in the shot put (34’ 6 1/2”) and Akers in the 100 (12.66), Tamarik Lee in the 110 hurdles (18.70) and Alex Vander Ploeg  in the 400 hurdles (1:11.32). 
    The 4x800 relay with Hall, Tavian Coleman, Ryan LaFrenz and Thomas Miller was fourth in 11:29.07, as was the Shuttle Hurdle with Blake Kelso, Brennan Doebel, Tucker Tusha and Shane Peterson in 1:17.19.
