CL boys track team working on maximizing points

    The Clear Lake boys track team jumped into the season with both feet last week, participating in three meets.  Coach A.J. Feuerbach said his squad is doing just what he hoped-- scoring more points each time out.
    “I’m proud of the efforts of our athletes.   We will continue to get the lineup set so that we can maximize our points.  Our team times overall are the best in my five years as the head coach, but still not where they need to be to win events.  We’ll keep working hard to improve,” he said.

Forest City Relays
    The Lions participated in the Forest City Relays Friday, March 30.  Clear Lake’s sprinters and hurdlers had a strong start, with Connor Nosbisch recording the best Lion finish at the event.  He was second in the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.39. Tanner Tusha finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.21. 
    Aaron Boeshart was fifth in the 100 meter dash in 11.56 and 10th in the 200 in 24.23.  Teammate Tre Strowder finished 14th in the 100 in 12.06, while Chase Crosby was 21st in the 200 in 27.30.  Chandler Diercks was ninth in the 400 in 56.29 and Crosby placed 20th in 1:03.95.
    In the distance events, Jake Baker earned a seventh place finish in the 3200 meter run in a time of 11:08.97.  He was also 14th in the 1600.  Jake Iverson was 17th in the 1600.  Brian Larsen and  Zach Merfeld were 18th and 19th respectively in the 800 meter run.
    A pair of Lion relays finished in the top six.  The shuttle hurdle team of Nosbisch, Tusha, Tamarick Lee and Blake Kelso was fifth in 1:05.77 and the 4x100 with Chase Lester, Strowder, Diercks, and Boeshart was sixth in 47.07.
    In the field events, Chase Crosby and Mitchell Jordan were 13th and 16th respectively in the shot put with tosses -Read More Via e-Edition
