Carrie A. Baskett

Carrie A. Baskett died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023 at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.  

An inurnment will take place at a later date at the cemetery in Buffalo Center.  

Carrie was born Oct. 7, 1915, the daughter of Fred and Eva (Christianson) Larson.  She graduated from high school in Buffalo Center.  Carrie married Warren Baskett.  They lived in Clear Lake.  They had three children, Karen (Peta), Katie and Jerry.  They all loved the lake.  Carrie even learned to ski so she could teach her children how.

Carrie was busy in the community.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  She was also a member in Woman’s Club and AQ T.T.T.  When they moved to Florida she was part of a group called the church clowns, entertaining people in nursing homes and churches. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. 

Carrie loved golf and played everyday.  She was very proud of her hole-in-one.  She also liked to read and always went to bed with a book.

Carrie is survived by her children, Karen (Ron) Ressler and Katie (Gary) Kahl, both from Clear Lake; grandchild, Lance (Kim) Ashland; and great-grandchildren, Clark and Daniel Ashland.  

Carrie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; brother, Jerome; son, Jerry; and grandson, Brent Ashland.

Ward-Van Slyke was in charge of arrangements.
